I am a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving in the Northern Santiago, Chile area. I started my missionary service at the Provo MTC on August 26, 2009 and will return home to Utah at the end of August 2011.
I grew up in Taylorsville, Utah and played many sports with my favorites being baseball, basketball, and golf. I was on my high school sports teams in those sports. I went to CEU (College of Eastern Utah) for one year prior to my mission where I was on the baseball team.
Here in Chile, I sometimes get the chance to play sports. (On my once-a-week preparation day, called p day.) It's usually football (American) or baseball. My mom sent me the football and my baseball glove and my grandparents sent me some baseballs. I also like to hike with my companion, members and investigators. Great ways to de-stress and have fun.
I became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints when I was 15 years old. I feel that I have a unique message for the people of Chile, as I chose to become a member of this church a little later in life. The church changed my life and is still changing it.
My mission has so far been everything I've expected: happy, fun, crazy(good and bad), scary, hard, spiritual, beautiful. And I LOVE the people and food here in Chile!
